Navy Seaman Recruit Lane M. Wolfe, son of Michael and Linda Wolfe, of Westfield, graduated from United States Navy basic training on May 2, 2014. Wolfe completed his training at Recruit Training Command, in Great Lakes Illinois.
During the eight-week program, Wolfe completed training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety.
The capstone event of boot camp is "Battle Stations" which gives recruits the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the fleet. It is designed to galvanize the basic warrior attributes of sacrifice, dedication, teamwork and endurance in each recruit through the practical application of basic Navy skills and the core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
Navy Seaman Recruit Lane M. Wolfe
Wolfe is a 2006 graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School. He has an Associate of Arts degree in business management from Mercyhurst University. Wolfe also has a Bachelor's of Science degree in communications from the State University of New York at Fredonia, as well as a Bachelors of Arts degree in accounting from Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pa.
Upon graduation from basic training, Wolfe has deployed to the Navy Construction Training Center in Gulfport, Mississippi, where he will receive 13 weeks of intensive training to qualify him as a United States Navy Seabee.
Wolfe has been awarded the National Defense Medal, and the Marksmanship medal.
