WESTFIELD - On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria: follows Westfield's Rules of Respect for staff and peers; shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects; prepared daily to participate in all classes; serves as a positive role model for peers; and demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship.
Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of January.
The sixth grade recipient is Anthony Spann. In school, Anthony enjoys his science class as he gets to observe and do many hands-on activities. In his spare, time he enjoys building and creating things with Legos. In the future, Anthony hopes to continue his education and design buildings, as well as help others.
Nick Presto received this honor for the seventh grade. In school, he enjoys his social studies class and learning about history in general. As a hobby, he enjoys playing football and has played on the defensive line for the Westfield Goldenhawks. One goal he has for the future is to continue to do well in school and become an engineer.
At the eighth grade level, Maddison Knapp received this honor. In school, she enjoys her science class and the interesting material she learns. Outside of the classroom, Maddison enjoys playing basketball with many of her friends. In the future,e she hopes to become a pediatrician.
