WESTFIELD - On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria: follows Westfield's Rules of Respect for staff and peers; shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects; prepared daily to participate in all classes; serves as a positive role model for peers; and demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship.
Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of October.
The sixth grade recipient is Grace Bodenmiller. In school, Grace enjoys her math class because it is useful every day in life and also her science class because she enjoys the experiments. In her spare time, she enjoys reading books as well as playing the saxophone and the piano. In the future, Grace hopes to continue doing well in school and go onto college and become a pediatrician.
Kailyn Gatto received this honor for the seventh grade. In school, she enjoys her science, language arts and music classes as they are interesting and enjoyable. As a hobby, she enjoys participating in the Chautauqua Children's Chorale as well as playing the clarinet and guitar. One goal she has for the future is to continue to do well in school and go to a college with a good music program.
At the eighth grade level, Elizabeth Franchina received this honor. In school, she enjoys her language arts and science classes. Outside of the classroom, Liz enjoys going hunting with her dad and spending time outdoors. In the future, she hopes to go to college to become a photographer and someday travel the world taking pictures.
The Westfield School and community offer their congratulations to these outstanding students.
