LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler are tied for the lead midway through the third round of the PGA Championship.
McIlroy teed off with a one-stroke lead Saturday, but has failed to take advantage of good scoring conditions at Valhalla. Making the turn, the 25-year-old from Northern Ireland is at 1 under for the round and 10 under overall.
Fowler is playing well at another major championship, rolling in an 18-foot birdie at the 10th that pulled him into a tie for the top spot. The American was runner-up at both the U.S. Open and the British Open, after a fifth-place finish at the Masters.
Jason Day and Jim Furyk have also had at least a share of the lead on a wide-open day. Fifteen players are separated by three shots.
