Our last meeting was March 16 at the VFW in Mayville, NY. A variety of casseroles and desserts were enjoyed by all! Dianne Goodrich told us a story as well as a St. Pat's Blessing! Bonnie Johnson led the Pledge of Allegiance. The Secretary and Treasurer Reports were read and approved. Sandy Anderson read the Lifetime Member Birthday list as well as all the March Birthdays and Anniversaries. She also stated that Mary Carlson sent out several cards this past month.
Janet Loomis, Tour Director, stated that seats were filling up for "Wicked" at Shea's Theatre in Buffalo, NY on May 23. Please call Janet at 716-6687 to reserve a ticket (orchestra seating)! Cost is $145 members and $147 non-members that must be paid by April 20.
The kitchen committee was graciously thanked! Bonnie stated that at the last executive meeting it was decided to have subs instead of ham for our Easter Celebration and Beef on Wick instead of hot dogs for our picnic in July. We will still have sloppy joes for our August picnic! Bonnie welcomed new members, Janet and Ron Trippy! Door prize was won by Annabelle Weise!
Bill Tornstrom introduced Mr. Dave Ward, Hartfield, NY, who then took over and relayed to us how he acquired and is working on restoring "Little Toot", an historical vessel used in building the bridge across Chautauqua Lake! Such interesting and commendable work!
Bill Tornstrom, Program Chairperson, announced that the speakers at our next meeting, April 6 at noon at the VFW in Mayville, will be Bert and Roberta Anderson from Allegany Region Missions, Randolph, NY. They will be talking about their work and experiences of six years in Haiti! Be sure to attend and learn how they helped build a school and medical clinics!
