Anthony Louis (Tony) Cash

Anthony Louis (Tony) Cash, beloved husband of Mary (Connie) Cash, entered into his new life with his family in heaven, on Monday, January 30, 2017. Anthony, the son of Joseph and Angeline (Yacklon) Cash, was born June 26, 1933. He was a lifelong Westfield native and in the Westfield Academy graduating class of 1952.

Tony served in the US Army and was stationed in Mainz, Germany with the Second Armored Division, "Hell on Wheels". After his discharge in 1955, Tony married his "beautiful wife" (as he always referred to her), on September 1, 1956. His marriage of 60 years gave him 4 children; Denise Williams-Stebbins of Westfield, NY, John Cash of Lackawanna, NY, Dr. Andrew Cash of Indiana, PA and Dr. Michael Cash of Indiana, PA; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Tony is a retired salesman for Stateside Motors of Jamestown, NY. His 18 year career there brought him awards for his outstanding work and salesmanship from the Toyota Company. Tony was also an entrepreneur owning several businesses in the area. But, Tony will always be best known for his barber shop, which he operated for 17 years. Tony was an active member of his community serving on the Westfield School Board for 5 years, a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Loyal Order of Moose and the American Legion. He also was a very active member at his church, St. James (now St. Dominic) Catholic Church in Westfield, NY, serving on the Council 3100 Knights of Columbus. He became an Honorary Member of the 4th Degree on that council serving as a lifelong Grand Knight.

Tony's family and friends will always remember him by his quick wit and humor. His kind and gentle composure brought him friends wherever he went. He had the ability of bringing a smile to one's face whether a family member, a friend or new acquaintance.

Tony loved science and innovation, nature, cars and concepts of the future. He loved cooking, baking, traveling and sunshine, but most of all, his wife. They could be found on any given summer evening sitting on the patio, watching a sunset or concert at Chautauqua. In his earlier years he was always Connie's "assistant" at her flower shop, spending hours with her as she finished wedding, funeral or Mother's Day flowers. His patiences and devotion was endless not only with his wife but with his entire family. He was a great and loving father and grandfather, taking his family on many day trip adventures to enrich their lives. Many extended vacations were enjoyed as they visited throughout the south and eastern part of the country and throughout Europe. His grandchildren will always remember him by his gentle hand holding, unbelievable stories and great sandwiches.

Tony is survived by his "beautiful wife" Connie, his daughter Denise Williams- Stebbins (Darrell), his 3 sons, John Cash (Joann), Dr. Andrew Cash (Anne), Dr. Michael Cash (Tara), his grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer VandeVelde (Nick), Dr. Christina Bereda (David), Stephanie Williams-Thomas (Adam), Isaac Williams, Simon Williams, Jessica Cash, Sarah Cash, Rebecca Cash, Meaghan Cash, Emilea Cash, Keara Cash, Mia Cash, Tammy (Boyd) Cash and Matthew Cash and his great-grandchildren, Dante and Anthony Williams, Vincent and Willow VandeVelde, Brennen, Jorden and Finley Bereda. He was proceeded in passing this life by his parents, 4 brothers Louis Cash, Carl Cash Joseph Cash and Charles Cash and 2 sisters Grace Bader and Josie Malacane.

Tony graciously donated his body to the University of Buffalo Medical Department for medical research and the education of new doctors. There will be a private burial at a later date. The family thanks all who attended his Memorial Mass and Life Celebration. Donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, St. Dominic's Catholic Church Cemetery Fund or the Westfield Memorial Hospital.
