BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — A grand jury has indicted a western New York mother on a charge of killing her 8-year-old son.
Jessica Murphy's attorney entered a not guilty plea to murder charges on her behalf in state Supreme Court in Buffalo Wednesday. She's being held without bail.
The 29-year-old was arrested last month after authorities say she strangled and stabbed Jacob Noe inside their Buffalo apartment.
Murphy's lawyer is requesting a mental health evaluation before trial.
She faces up to 25 years to life if convicted of the second-degree murder charge.
