Pinehurst Retiree Golf

A great day for golf saw 26 golfers play Shamble format. The team of Bill Christ, Dick Furman, Todd Swanson and Sam Arcadipane took first place with a total score of 114. The tie breaker left Bob Richmond, Keith Rothwell and Jesse Marino in second (118) and third went to Bob Lokietek, Steve Woleben (good to see you), Vinny Paternosh and Doug Rothwell. Fourth with a 124 were Trenny Jordan, Butch Joint, Les Yokum and George Tanner. Also at 124 and in fifth place were Jim Quinn, John Jones, Dennis Shively and Gene Noble. In sixth place were Bill Ottaway, Joe Seminatore, Pete Miller and Jim Higgenbothm (128). Seventh was reserved for Bill Cole, Bob Rogers and Dave Holser at 130. Closest to the pin second shot was won by Todd Swanson while Trenny Jordan was closest on No. 4 and on No. 7 was Sam Arcadipane at from the pin.

Traveling Retiree Golf

On Aug. 11, 21 retired golfers visited Cable Hollow Golf Course in Russell, Pa. Five four-man teams competed for prize money with the team of Todd Swanson, Bob Rogers, Sam Arcadipane and Roger Kolpien taking first place with a score of 209. The team of Jim Sudul, Dick Kurick, Vinny Paternosh and Joe Seminatore finished in second place with a score of 216. Third-place money went to the team of Tren Jordan, John Jones, Glen Eck, Gary Farley and Dennis Burck. Individual honors went to Doug Rothwell and Sudul for closest to the pin on holes 17 and 2. Sudul had a low gross score of 87 and Bill Ottaway had a low net score of 66. Five "Skins" were earned with one each to Sudul, Farley, Burck, Rogers and Jeff Wagner. Of the 21 golfers competing, 15 came home with prize money. The next outing will be Aug. 25 at North Hill Golf Course in Corry, Pa.
