Friday Night Movie in Moore Park

Everyone is welcome to bring a chair or blanket and enjoy Westfield's Friday Night Movie in Moore Park on August 1. The family friendly showing will be preceded by dancers performing from Centerstage Dance Studio at 7:30 pm. Show time is as soon after dusk as it is dark enough. Parents are reminded that children must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all time. Enforced smoke, alcohol, and pet free environment. Free admission. In case of rain, the movie will be shown the following night in the park.

Recreational Tennis Update

Recreational Tennis matches for High School students thru adults are being organized Mondays at 6:15 pm behind the Westfield School.

Annual Swim Meet

The Annual Welch Field Swim Meet will be held on Saturday, August 16. For more information or to pre-register, contact the Pool Office at 326-4441. Pre-registration is not required but is requested.


There is still time to signup for Fall Local Youth Soccer. Applications can be picked up and turned in at the Village of Westfield window in the Eason Hall, 23 Elm St. Applications can be mailed in. Signups are for children ages 4 thru 11. (For children turning 4 by August 1 and not turning 12 until Oct. 26). Scholarships are available. The Skate Park is open for use Monday thru Friday between 9 am and 5 pm, weather and availability of supervision permitting. Telephone 326-4441 to confirm availability.

Free Summer Concerts in Westfield's Moore Park

On August 6 the KoKoMo Band will present their tropical looks and sounds from the '50s thru the '70s, that has made them a traditional regional crowd favorite. Concerts are held Wednesdays in Moore Park, the performances run from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m these performances are brought to you free of charge. Remember to bring your own seating and be prepared to enjoy some great musical entertainment. Annual Triathlon

The annual Triathlon will be held on Friday, August 8 at the Welch Field at 1 pm. The Pool will be closed from 1 pm to 5 pm that day. Telephone 326-4441 or register at the Pool Office.

Tour of Chautauqua Bike Ride

The 31st annual Tour of Chautauqua Bike Ride will be held on Saturday, August 9, originating and finishing in front of the Eason Hall, 23 Elm St. Westfield, NY. The mass start begins at 9 am. Water and refreshment stops and sag wagon services are provided. Helmets are required. Recreational tours of courses of 25, 40, 62, 75 and 100 miles are offered, with a meal at the finish. Entries postmarked by

October 11 Trip

We are planning a trip to the 20th anniversary of the Old-Fashioned Christmas in the Woods in Columbiana, Ohio on Oct 11. Here is your opportunity to shop for holiday and traditional crafts from some of the country's best craftspeople. There will be 200 of the country's top craftspeople and artisans demonstrating and selling their handcrafted items, a large variety of food booths as well as live entertainment, in a charming wooded setting with graveled pathways for shopper's convenience.
