Pinehurst Retiree Golf

Seven under took first place money for the team of Bill Christ, Rick Lawson, Ray Lewis and Doug Rothwell. After a tie breaker on number 4 - the team of Al Easton, Jeff Graebell, Dave Holser and Vinny Paternosh were second . In third at 4 under par were Les Yokum, John Jones, Trenny Jordan and Sam Arcadipane. Fourth place with 3 under were Keith Rothwell, Lou Barressi,George Tanner and Gene Noble. Two under earned Mel Allen, Todd Swanson and Butch Joint fifth place. Sixth place went to Bob Lokietek, Bob Rogers, Ron Wise and Dick Furman with a 35. Last but certainly not least at even par was Bill Ottaway, Pete Miller, Pete Miller Jr. and Dennis Shively. Closest to the 150 yard marker on number three was Sam Arcadipane and closest to the pin on number 4 was Doug Rothwell and on number seven was Keith Rothwell.

Traveling Retiree Golf Open Season

On July 14, twenty retired golfers visited the Downing golf course in Erie, Pa. Five four man teams competed for prize money with the team of Todd Swanson, Trenny Jordan, Sam Arcadipane and Roger Kolpien taking first place with a score of 202. The team of Al Muck, Dan Neucomb, Bob Rogers and Dick Kurek finished in second place with a score of 205. Third place money went to the team of Jeff Wagner, Gary Nash, Jeff Graebell and Leroy Bahl with a score of 206.

Individual honors went to Rogers for having low net score of 58, and Wagner for having a low gross score of 82. The "shot of the day" went to Todd Swanson for hitting a 250 yard drive over a lake and landing 10 feet off the green. Nine skins were handed out with one each to Swanson, Rogers, Nash, Wagner, Keith Rothwell, Gary Farley, Jim Sudal and two for Les Yokum.

Of the twenty golfers competing, sixteen came home with prize money. The next outing will be Monday, July 23 at Crab Apple golf course. Tee time is 9:30 a.m. New golfers are welcome. Call Roger Kolpien at 326-6253 for more information.
