Jacqueline M. Day, 68, of Jamestown was charged with speeding and driving while intoxicated on Saturday. At 8:06 p.m., police observed Day's vehicle allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed on South Portage Street. Day was found to be allegedly intoxicated during the traffic stop. She was released to appear in Westfield Village Court at a later date.
A 17-year-old male from Westfield was charged with violating the curfew law on Saturday. Police observed the youth on East Main Street at 2:35 a.m. When police attempted to stop the male, he allegedly ran off on foot but was found after a brief search. He was released to appear in Westfield Village Court at a later date.
A 17-year-old female from Westfield and a 17-year-old female from Brocton were both charged with violating the curfew law on Saturday. Police observed the two youths on Academy Street just after 12 a.m., where the females allegedly tried to hide from police in bushes. The Westfield youth was allegedly found to be in possession of an alcoholic beverage and a small amount of marijuana. She was subsequently charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of alcohol under 21. Both females were released to appear in Westfield Village Court at a later date.
Daniel P. Rothwell, 23, of Grove Street was charged with crossing the hazard markings, failure to keep right, driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or more on Sunday. Police observed Rothwell's vehicle allegedly cross the hazard markings and yellow lines on Route 20 in the town of Westfield at 1:42 a.m. Rothwell was allegedly found to be intoxicated during the stop and was taken into custody. A chemical breath test resulted in a BAC of more than .18 percent. He was released to appear in Westfield Town Court at a later date.
