CLINTON - Justin S. Smith, son of Nancy and Mark Smith of Mayville, received a bachelor of arts degree from Hamilton College on Sunday, May 25, concluding the college's 202nd year.

Hamilton awarded 500 diplomas in the ceremony. Christopher Dickey, award-winning author and journalist and foreign editor of The Daily Beast, delivered the Commencement address.

A computer science and mathematics major at Hamilton, Smith graduated magna cum laude with departmental honors in computer science and mathematics and now joins an alumni body of more than 20,000, many of whom have made important contributions to business, the professions, government and the arts.

Hamilton College is a highly selective residential college offering its 1,828 students a rigorous liberal arts curriculum. Students are challenged to think, write and speak critically, creatively and analytically, so that upon graduation they may distinguish themselves in both their professions and their communities.
