North Harmony Seniors have a day of fun

June 5, 2014
Westfield Republican / Mayville Sentinel News

The North Harmony Seniors have enjoyed the past two meetings with a lot of camaraderie among the membership. At the April meeting the connoisseurs of homemade bake goods and desserts were provided the opportunity to bid on the luscious items baked by some of the members. They always say that the way to a person's heart is through their stomach.

In May, the club held its annual auction of collectables donated by the membership. These items attracted a fund raising event that let people take things home from a carafe of Tim Horton coffee packets, spaghetti shredder, picturesque pottery and dishes, a wallet with an unknown amount of money to a large tree plant. One could say that there was great value in the dollar in as much as many of the items were awarded with a bid of $1.

Members have hosted the monthly potluck dinners with many delectable items.

Trivia Day was sponsored at the Center on May 8, 2014. The North Harmony Wizards placed third in the competition and donated their $50 winnings to the club treasury.

President Ferry was congratulated on his recognition for being named as the most inspirational senior in Chautauqua County.

Members will be participating in trips to the Conneaut, Ohio World War II reenactment and "Christmas in the Woods" in Pennsylvania.

The next meeting of the North Harmony Senior Citizens, Inc. will be held at the Center on June 16, 2014.
