CLYMER - Daniella E. Wade has been named Valedictorian and Samantha J. Nickerson has been named Salutatorian for the Clymer Central School Class of 2014 by the Board of Education.
Daniella Wade, daughter of Matthew and Sheila Wade of 11 Clymer Corry Road in Clymer, has been named the Class Valedictorian with a GPA of 99.19 percent. She graduates with an Advanced Regents Diploma and has sequences in math, science, Spanish, art, and business.
Daniella was the recipient of the RIT Computing Medal. She also received recognition from Jamestown Community College as the College Connections Student of the Year for 2014. Daniella was a member of Clymer's Business First All-Western New York Academic Team. She made the Dean's List for part-time students at Jamestown Community College.
Daniella was a member of the Clymer volleyball and basketball teams. She served as captain of the both of these teams. She was selected MIP and to the All-Stars team for both sports. She received the Sportsmanship Award for volleyball and the Team Scholar Athlete Award for basketball. She attended basketball camp throughout high school.
Daniella has participated in numerous clubs and activities throughout her high school years. She was Historian of National Honor Society and President of AFS. She served as Secretary for the Class of 2014 throughout high school. Her junior year she was chairperson of the prom committee. She was sports editor of the yearbook and competed in the math competition. She is a member of Teens on Fire. She participated in May Day and the Clymer Tulip Festival Queen Contest.
Daniella has volunteered for many different causes. She participated in the Strides Walk for Breast Cancer, Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser, and a Hospice fundraiser. She also refereed and coached Saturday Morning Basketball. She has participated in the Big Buddy program at CCS. She was part of a community fall clean up.
During her senior year, Daniella was also employed at Peak 'N' Peek Resort and Conference Center as a busser and server.
Daniella will be attending Indiana University Bloomington this fall where she will major in Sports Marketing and Management.
Samantha Nickerson, daughter of Bert and Brenda Nickerson of 8947 Route 474 in Clymer, is the Class Salutatorian with a GPA of 98.61 percent. She will receive an Advanced Regents Diploma and has sequences in math, science, Spanish, and art.
Samantha received the Elmira Key Award from Elmira College and the 2013 Wendy's High School Heisman Award. She was a member of Clymer's Business First All-Western New York Academic team. She also received recognition from Jamestown Community College as the College Connections Student of the Year for 2013 and received the New York State Senate Youth Leadership Recognition Award. She made the Dean's List for part-time students at Jamestown Community College.
Samantha was a member of the Clymer volleyball and track teams throughout high school. She was selected MIP for volleyball and honorable mention for the All-Stars team for volleyball.
Samantha was a member of the National Honor Society and served as President of that organization her senior year and Treasurer her junior year. She was a member of AFS and participated in the Senior Play as well. She served as Treasurer of the Class of 2014 throughout high school. Her junior year she was served on the prom committee.
Samantha has been involved in a number of community activities. She was selected Chautauqua County Dairy Princess. She is actively involved in 4-H, serving as President of the Columbus Cowpokes. She was a Girl Scout during her freshman year. She was also a member of Teens on Fire throughout high school. She participated in May Day and the Clymer Tulip Festival Queen Contest.
Samantha volunteered in the Big Buddy program at CCS. She participated in the Strides Walk for Breast Cancer, the Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser, and The Quilt Ministry at the Abby Reformed Church. She rang the bell for the Salvation Army Christmas Drive. She was part of a community fall clean up.
Samantha has worked throughout high school milking cows on the family farm.
Samantha will attend Jamestown Community College where she will major in Accounting this fall.
Clymer's graduation ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 26 at 7 p.m. in the Clymer Central School Student Performance Center.
