The YWCA Westfield recently partnered with the Salvation Army ANEW center to present a program on Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention.
During the presentation, YWCA board member Cynthia Littleton layered quilts over a participant. This exercise is used to demonstrate the power and the oppression an abuser exercises over their partner.
ANEW center speaker Tracy Jespersen shared statistics and anecdotal information with the group, highlighting the methods and techniques an abuser might use and concluded by sharing the resource list and numbers.
