Chautauqua Lake 11, Brocton, 0

RIPLEY, May 13 Seniors Ashley Giddy, Ashley Moulton and Kalishia Swoger provided the offensive firepower for the Chautauqua Lake Lady Thunderbirds in an 11-0 shutout of Brocton on Senior Night Monday in CCAA West II high school softball.

Olivia Anderson pitched a complete-game shutout. Anderson's shutout performance included nine strikeouts, no walks and six hits.

Giddy was 3 for 3, including a homer and a double with three RBIs. She also scored two runs. Moulton also pounded out three hits with a double and two RBIs. Swoger had two hits with an RBI.

For Brocton, the only player with two hits was Jess Delcamp, who ripped a double and a single.

Panama 6, Brocton 4

BROCTON, May 10 - The Panama Lady Panthers (6-4) didn't let a rain delay slow them down en route to a 6-4 victory over the Brocton Lady Bulldogs in CCAA West II softball action.

Sarah Osborne earned the win in the circle with a five-inning performance in which she allowed four runs on five hits with one strikeout.

Jess Putcher took the loss, allowing six hits and striking out eight in a complete-game effort.

Brittany Lenart's two-run homerun powered the Lady Panthers, who took a two-run lead in the third inning and never looked back.

Madalyn Bowen added two hits and an RBI in the win.

Jess Delcamp was Brocton's lone bright spot on offense with two hits and an RBI.

Chautauqua Lake 10, Brocton 1

BROCTON, May 9 - Ashton Albanesius was nearly unhittable in leading the Chautauqua Lake Lady Thunderbirds (11-5, 7-1) to a 10-1 victory over the Brocton Lady Bulldogs (5-6, 4-5) in CCAA West II high school softball.

Albanesius struck out eight and walked one while giving up just two hits.

Offensively, Jade Walsh had three hits and was a home run shy of hitting for the cycle. Mel McCutcheon had three hits with a triple and drove in three runs.

The Lady Thunderbirds had a four-run fifth inning highlighted by a two-run triple from McCutcheon.

Morgan Bennett had Brocton's only two hits.

Jess Merle was the losing pitcher as she struck out 10, walked three and gave up 11 hits.

Brocton 24, Sherman 0

BROCTON, May 8 - Samara Dulmaine provided the offense and Jess Putcher was stellar in the circle as the Brocton Lady Bulldogs (5-5, 4-4), dismantled the Sherman Lady Wildcats (0-8), 24-0, Wednesday in CCAA West II high school softball.

Putcher did not issue a walk, struck out three and gave up just three hits. At the plate, Dulmaine had four hits to drive in three runs. Putcher added three hits with a triple while Morgan Bennett and Sabrina Ruiz each had three hits in the win.

Sherman's Alexa Dekuning had two hits.

CLCS 12, CVCS 7

RIPLEY, May 8 - Chautauqua Lake (10-5, 6-1) defeated Cassadaga Valley, 12-7 during CCAA West II softball action.

The Lady Thunderbirds plated four runs in the bottom of the first on an RBI triple off the bat of Jade Walsh, a run-scoring single by Mel McCutcheon and a pair of errors that chased home McCutcheon and Ashley Moulton, who had reached base on a single down the left field line.

Chautauqua Lake scored single runs in the second, third and fourth innings, two runs in the fifth and three runs in the sixth for its 12 runs. Cassadaga Valley plated three runs in the top of the third to cut Chautauqua Lake's lead in half, 6-3, but were unable to score again until the sixth.

Olivia Anderson picked up the win for the Lady Thunderbirds, striking out seven and walking two while Alyssa Hahn suffered the loss, as she struck out two and walked as many.

At the plate for Chautauqua Lake, Walsh (triple) and Moulton had three hits each while Gina Sena (double) and Emilee Steger had two hits each.

For the Lady Cougars, Madison Reuther had a pair of singles while Rebecca Rothleader had a double and a triple.
