YWCA Board Members, from left, Dana Corwin, Cassidy Cooney, Molly Anderson and Board Chair Ida Klahn, announce Loreen Ginnitti has been selected to receive the 2013 YWCA Woman of Distinction Award. The award was established in 1994 and is awarded to a woman whose life and contributions to society have made a difference to her community and who has promoted the YWCA mission of eliminating racism, empowering women and working towards peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
The award ceremony was held April 22 at the YWCA. Ms. Ginnitti, a retired teacher, has been a long time supporter of the YWCA and has served on the board in several capacities, including two terms as chair and a term as secretary. In addition she has established an endowment for the YWCA at the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation and made several personal financial donations to the YWCA.
