On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria:
1. Follows Westfield's Rules of Respect for staff and peers
2. Shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects
3. Prepared daily to participate in all classes
4. Serves as a positive role model for peers
5. Demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship
Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of March.
The 6th grade recipient is Isaac Caballero. In school, Isaac enjoys his physical education and social studies classes, as he gets to run and play in the gym, and his teacher makes learning social studies easy to understand. In his spare time he enjoys playing soccer because he enjoys the sport and spending time with his friends who also play. In the future, Isaac plans to continue to play soccer, perhaps for Manchester United.
Jessica Morse received this honor for the seventh grade. In school she enjoys her science and Language Arts classes, as she enjoys writing and science labs. As a hobby Jessica enjoys crafts such as sewing, and making things she can use. In the future she hopes to go to college and perhaps own a restaurant or be a home and careers teacher.
At the 8th grade level Ania Nichols received this honor. In school she enjoys her math class and hanging out with her friends in lunch. Outside of the classroom Ania enjoys sketching and using the Spanish language she learns in school at home. In the future she hopes to enter a career in business and become the CEO of a company.
The Westfield school and community offer their congratulations to these outstanding students.
