The Thunderbirds took a 3-0 lead in the third inning as Ryan Linnecke ripped a two-run single and Tyler Furlow had an RBI grounded for the lead.

In the fourth inning, the home team scored the go-ahead run on heads up base running. With Eric Fermier standing on third, Dahl drew a walk and never stopped as he kept running to second base. The pitcher threw the ball to second, and Fermier broke for home and scored.

The Wolverines added an insurance run in the sixth for the victory.

Dahl was the only batter to record two hits. Nolan Hunt tripled for the winners.

Hunt was the winning pitcher as he threw a complete-game, three-hitter with 10 strikeouts and two walks. Braydyn was the losing pitcher, as he went seven strong innings with six hits, four strikeouts and two walks.

SINCLAIRVILLE, May 5 - Behind Ryan Johnsons three-hitter with seven strikeouts and two walks, Brocton was able to stop Cassadaga Valley (1-2-1-3), 15-4.

The game was close until the seventh inning when Brocton scored nine runs to break it open. Johnson had a two-run single and had only one of two hits that inning as Brocton took advantage of several walks, errors and hit batters.

Connor Dolce and Lathan Dunn split four hits for the Bulldogs.

For Cassadaga Valley, Tyler Simpson had a double, Kyle Ruge and Jaquan Watts singles.

Westfield slips past Brocton, 3-1

BROCTON, May 1 - The Brocton Bulldogs (4-6, 2-4) made two mistakes more than Westfield (10-4, 7-0) and it ended up costing them a 3-1 decision to the Wolverines on Thursday in CCAA West II high school baseball.

"We played them very tough the first time and that was our first game," Brocton coach Terry Presto said. "That was 3-0. What's nice is Steve Krystofiak pitched well enough to win. I was really impressed and it was a positive sign to see we have another hurler to go along with Ryan Johnson."

Krystofiak pitched all seven innings and scattered nine hits while striking out 12 and walking four.
