BROCTON, April 25 - The Chautauqua Lake Thunderbirds (5-2, 4-1) were the beneficiaries of five Brocton (5-2, 4-1) errors and 11 walks in an 11-3 victory over the Bulldogs on Friday in CCAA West II high school baseball.
Tyler Furlow got Chautauqua Lake's offense going early as he cranked a solo home run in the first inning. The visitors then scored four runs in the second inning and five more runs in the third inning to put the game away.
"I just think we didn't play a good game," Brocton coach Terry Presto said. "In the third inning, (Chautauqua Lake) had five runs on one hit. We gave up four walks in that inning and combined with two errors and passed balls. That adds up. It's hard to beat a team when you do that."

Avery Webb, Devon Pope and Braydyn Wappat each had singles while Cody Sargent had an RBI single for the winners.
Steve Krystofiak, Ryan Johnson and Connor Dolce had Brocton's lone hits with Dolce earning an RBI.
Krystofiak came in midway through the second inning, and despite struggling early on, Presto was encouraged with the way he finished.
"Steve came around," he said. "He started rough and he pitched himself out of a jam which was a bright spot. He had bases loaded with no outs in the fourth and he got out of it. The last couple innings he improved a lot. That was a bright spot.
Westfield blanks Cougars on back of Hunt
WESTFIELD, April 28 - Nolan Hunt was dominant once again as he pitched the Westfield Wolverines (9-4, 6-0) to a 12-0 victory over the Cassadaga Valley Cougars (1-2, 1-1) in CCAA West II baseball action.
Hunt pitched a complete game, striking out 12 and issuing no walks while allowing just three hits.
"I hate to say it's expected, but he is just very consistent," Westfield coach Doug Kaltenbach said of his ace pitcher. "His bat really turned on (yesterday) and it fed into his pitching performance. He was ahead of every batter."
Hunt finished the day 3 for 4 at the plate with a double while Rob Burgess was 2 for 4.
Jonathan Wilson added a 2-for-3 day with a double in the win and Trevor North finished with two RBIs.
Matt Hallowell took the loss for the Cougars, going four innings and allowing nine runs while walking one and striking out three.
"That was our best offensive output of the season," Kaltenbach said. "We had been struggling on offense, but (Monday) all of our hits were hard, legit hits and we ran the bases well. We did a lot of good things (Monday)."
Bulldogs' Johnson tosses complete game in win
CLYMER, April 28 - Brocton's Ryan Johnson tossed a complete game as the Bulldogs topped host Clymer, 4-1, Monday in CCAA West II high school baseball.
Johnson racked up 11 strikeouts with no walks, surrendered five hits and only one earned run in getting the win and helped his own cause with two hits and two runs scored.
Brocton held a 2-1 lead in the fourth and Clymer tried to squeeze home a runner from third, but the attempt failed.
Also for the winners, Dalton Remington produced two hits and scored a run and Devon Walter had two hits and two RBIs.
For the Pirates (1-3), Mitch Einink got the loss, going five innings striking out five with two walks. Andrew Heil followed in relied and gave up two runs on three hits.
