Falconer Central School, with the assistance of the Chautauqua County Baseball Umpires Association, will once again sponsor the High School Baseball Showcase on Friday and Saturday at Diethrick Park.
This is the eighth year of the resurrection of the Baseball Showcase, which was conceived in the 1980s and will feature 12 high school baseball teams from Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties in a schedule of six games over the two-day period.
The Showcase gives local high school players an opportunity to play in a professional baseball stadium.
The schedule is:
4 p.m.- West Valley vs. Pine Valley
7 p.m. Frewsburg vs. Falconer
10 a.m. Brocton vs. Panama
1 p.m. - Maple Grove vs Westfield
4 p.m. Randolph vs. Chautauqua Lake
7 p.m. Southwestern vs. Gowanda
Admission is $1 for students (K-12) and senior citizens, and $2 for adults. Proceeds help Falconer baseball, add to the Umpires Association Baseball Scholarship Fund and to offset some of the costs of operating the Showcase.
