YMCA Masters post impressive results

The Jamestown YMCA Masters swim team posted impressive results this season. Finishing the season in first place were Bill Radack and Judy Young, both from Jamestown. Second place went to Kelly Bates (Westfield), Karen Williams (Mayville).

The six month season comes to an end with a two day championship meet, held at Indiana University in Pennsylvania. The Jamestown women took first place in both relays. First place finishes for individual races went to Bates, Andrea Mosher (Randolph), Williams and Young. Young, who competes in the age 85-89 age category also took five second place finishes. Bates, Mosher, Rich Siegel (Bemus Point), Alan Silliker (Alleghany) and Williams all enjoyed second place finishes. Other local team participants included Gretchen Elwell (Mayville), Mara Rubin (Westfield) and Gail Saunders (Mayville). There are 23 teams in the Allegheny Mountain Y Masters Swimming Association (AMYMSA) league, which includes teams from New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.
