Westfield-Ripley Kiwanis Club open their hearts to autism

April 17, 2014
Westfield Republican / Mayville Sentinel News

They say March comes in like a lion, and the month opened to a roaring success for the Westfield-Ripley Kiwanis Club. On Thursday, March 6, Kiwanians hosted a turkey dinner at St. Dominic's Church in Westfield. As a result of this successful dinner, the club has committed to donating $500 to N.Y. District Kiwanis Governor Joseph Aiello's Governor's project, "Open Your Heart To Autism." The $500 will be used exclusively for autism research.

The Westfield-Ripley Kiwanians are proud to join the other 265 Kiwanis Clubs across the N.Y. District of Kiwanis International in supporting this extremely important project.

Our local Kiwanian's passion for this project did not stop in March, but continues as they have lofty goals - one being to raise even more money in hopes in sending one or two autistic children to Kamp Kiwanis this summer. Other projects are planned as well.

In addition to the above, the club has members that have experience working with autistic children. They are more than willing to donate some of their time working with autistic children in the area. For more information on this, please contact Lt. Governor Robert Ducato for the Southwestern Division of Kiwanis at 326-2752 or Elizabeth Weatherly at (814) 873-0779 or (814) 725-1825.

In closing, thank you for your support as we diligently try to raise public awareness and funds for autism. Please read the Westfield Republican for upcoming events.
