Lillian C. Ingerson, 84, of 303 West Fifth St., Jamestown, passed away at 8:28 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, in WCA Hospital.
A lifelong area resident, she was born June 11, 1929, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late Emmanuel S. and Ellen Y. Johnson Hultman.
Before her retirement in 2000, she was employed as a home care aide for Chautauqua Opportunities Inc. and in earlier years was the elevator operator at the Hotel Jamestown for many years.
In her younger years she had attended the Weakland Chapel in Jamestown.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved to sing, dance and twirl.
Surviving are two sons: David A. (Christine) Ingerson of Celoron and James R. (Christina) Ingerson of Lander, Pa.; three daughters: Janette L. (Rick Kibbe) Slagle, Debra A. (Jeffrey) Pawloski, both of Celoron, and Susan (Frank) Selle of Jamestown; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Ingerson of Celoron.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L. Ingerson, who died in 1975; a son, Daniel R. Ingerson, who died May 30, 2013; four brothers: Milton, Laverne, Arthur and Paul Hultman; and two sisters: Ethel Hultman and Violet Weeks.
The funeral was held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Hurst, pastor of the Lander United Methodist Church, will offiate. Burial was in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends was received from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
