On April 3, 42 members signed the attendance sheet for a buffet lunch and entertainment. Joyce Ayers welcomed all and Diane Goodrich gave the invocation. Mary Carlson called table number. Diane read three funny stories and we asked for a moment of silence for in memory of member Margarite Brightman.
The Secretary and Treasurer reports were read and accepted. A letter was received from the 4th of July Committee regarding the expense of hosting the July 4th festivities. Everyone agreed a donation should be made. The Treasurer will take care of this.
Mary Carlson listed the birthdays for April: Rita Lescynski, Josephine Spas, Dorothy Whipple, Patricia Baker, Barb Rotte, Dorothy Akam, Claudia Whittenbrook, Dolly Gilbert, Nettie Moore, Carl Witherow, Judy Smith and Janet Loomis. Anniversaries were celebrated for Bob and Judy Smith and John and Laona Boser.
Nancy Peterson was present to take blood pressure readings. The kitchen committee of Louise Richer, Dolly Gilbert and Fran Miller was thanked for their work.
Wanda Gustafson said the driving class on May 6 and 7 is from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. They gained one new member, Wendy Limberg. All were entertained by songs by Mike and Theresa Lettieri.
Kent Knappenburger, who won the Music Education Grammy Award, will speak at the next meeting Saturday, April 19. They will have Easter Dinner of swiss steak put on by the Mayville Methodist Church Outreach Committee.
