The Benjamin Prescott Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution met at the McClurg Mansion in Westfield on April 3.

The meeting was called to order by Mercy Warren, Regent, who along with Ann Wood led the opening ritual.

Roxanne Wood read the President General's Message. The DAR is honoring the 75th anniversary of the Marian Anderson concert. There is a webpage dedicated to Ms. Anderson.

An article from the "National Defender" dealing with National Defense medals was read by Vice Regent Antoinette Sherman. Also, in the issue was a "Celebrate American" report on DAR members service to veterans.

Carol Abell, Secretary, read the minutes of the previous meeting and Phyllis Noble gave the treasurer's report. Both were accepted as read.

Members were reminded to continue to report volunteer hours performed each month. Some members are volunteering at food pantries and some at the Barker Library in Fredonia.

The Chapter is looking for descendents of the Revolutionary War Veterans buried in Pioneer Cemetery in Fredonia. Anyone with information on where the descendents can be found, please contact the Chapter.
