Lucy Vinciguerra died March 28, 2014 at the Absolut Care Center in Westfield, N.Y. She was born in Fredonia, N.Y. on December 13, 1913 to the late Michael and Anna Vinciguerra. At the time of her death, Lucy was 100 years of age.
During her working years, she was employed by the Federal Government at the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C., in the Marine Corps. Division. When she retired, she returned to Fredonia to the family farm.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Church in Fredonia.
She is survived by her brother, Samuel Vinciguerra of Mayville, N.Y., one niece, and her nephew, Michael Vinciguerra, her care giver.
Lucy was predeceased by four brothers, Frank, Joseph, Rocco and James Vinciguerra and two sisters, Minnie and Jerry Vinciguerra.
Lucy's Funeral Service was held at St. Anthony's Church on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 10 a.m., where a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by the Reverend C.J. Westfield, pastor.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend the Funeral Mass and may call at the Fantauzzi Funeral Home, 82 E. Main St., Fredonia, on Tuesday, April 1 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Interment will be at the St. Anthony's Cemetery in Fredonia.
