Einink named girls Division 2 West MVP

Jenna Einink of regular-season and Section 6 champions Chautauqua Lake was named the Most Valuable Player of the junior-laden Division 2 West girls basketball all-star team.

Einink, who went over 1,000 points earlier this season, is among five juniors selected to the First Team.

Eric Schuster of Chautauqua Lake was chosen the Coach of the Year.

Joining Einink on the First Team are juniors Ashton Albanesius and Courtney Hewes of Chautauqua Lake, Brittany Lenart of Panama and Talia Coccarelli of Sherman. Sophomore Bridget Yaw of Sherman and senior Kayla Gilkinson of Clymer comprise the rest of the team.

Lenart of Panama received the league's individual sportsmanship award and her team was selected for the team sportsmanship award.

Individual team sportsmanship awards went to Brooke Kuschel of Brocton, Brittany Johnson of Cassadaga Valley, Hewes of Chautauqua Lake, M.J. Trisket of Clymer, Yaw of Sherman, Emily LaPorte of Westfield and Emilee Sperry of Panama.
