Enjoy tennis every Monday night from 6:30 to 8 p.m., weather permitting. Meet at the courts behind Westfield Academy and Central School to play tennis. The plan is to have enough people to organize several double matches.

Preachers From the Pews

First Presbyterian Church of Westfield is hosting a new Lent series every Friday at 7 p.m. throughout the season of Lent. The series titled, "Preachers From the Pews" features a different speaker from our congregation each week who will lead us in a short informal service. The theme for this Lenten series is love. This week of the series will feature Mike Ricketts as he delivers a message about Loving Others. Please join us as we continue on our Lenten journey together experiencing God's radical love. Refreshments will follow the service.

Lasagna Dinner

Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church is having a Lasagna Dinner, Saturday, March 15th from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Included is salad, bread, dessert and beverage for $7.50 donation. The church is located at Route 430 & Meadows Rd. in Dewittville.

Napoleon Dynamite Day

Come and join the fun on Napoleon Dynamite Day at Patterson Library as we celebrate one of the quirkiest movies of all time. Dress as a character to win a prize, participate in our trivia contest, watch a movie and, of course, eat tots. So do whatever you feel like you want to do but, gosh, come to Patterson Library at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 15. Ages 12 and older please. Call the library at 326-2154 to sign-up.

Centaur Stride Annual Walk-a-thon Fundraiser

Registration is appreciated for this event held at Chautauqua Mall. Walk from 2-3 p.m. to benefit programs at Centaur Stride Therapeutic Horseback Riding Facility in Westfield. Fee is $10; sponsorships and donations are also appreciated. Checks can be sent to: Centaur Stride, PO Box 174, Westfield, NY 14787. To register call 269-4386.

Towel BINGO

Time once again to play St. Patty's Day Towel BINGO! The event takes place Sunday, March 16 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at John W. Dill American Legion Post 434 Route 20 in Brocton. There will be prizes, Chinese Auction, 50-50 and refreshments. A small admission fee will be charged. Towel BINGO is sponsored by Preceptor Beta Epsilon Sorority.

Used Book Sale

A Used Book and Puzzle Sale is taking place at the McCord Memorial Library, 32 W. Main St. in North East, PA from March 17-22. Hours are Monday - Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday - Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Gently used books and puzzles, mixed media and more are available for $1. Free Blood Pressure Screenings

Continuing its mission to keep Westfield healthy, the Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Board is holding free Blood Pressure Screenings on Tuesday, March 18. The first takes place at 11 a.m. at the Episcopal Church in Westfield. The second is at the YWCA beginning at 12 p.m. For more information, contact Marilynne Northrop at 326-4429.

Mayville T.O.P.S. meeting

Soup Dinner

The First Presbyterian Church in Westfield will be hosting a soup dinner to benefit Westfield Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, March 12 from 5-7 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults and $20 for a family. Please call 326-3504 for more information.

The Ripley United Methodist Church is holding a Community Lenten Service at Meeder's Restaurant every Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. throughout this Lenten season.We will have a light supper of choice of soups, bread and a beverage with a Lenten Service to follow. Everyone is welcome to join in at this holy time and fellowship with us. Meeder's is located on Main Street in Ripley. The remaining dates are March 19, 26 and April 2 and 9.

Write Now Writer's Group

The Town of Portland's Ahira Hall Memorial Library located in Brocton hosts a writer's group. Any and all are invited to join. Host and published author George Clever will be helping the group explore self- and e-publishing as well. We meet every other Wednesday at 6 p.m. Next meeting is March 19. Hunter Safety Course

The Westfield Fish and Game Club on Ogden Road is conducting a gun safety class. It starts Monday, March 24 at 7 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m. and resumes Saturday, March 29 and runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students must attend both days and be 12 years old. For more information call 326-3218.

Flapjack Fundraiser

Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation is holding a Flapjack Fundraiser at the Applebee's on Vineyard Drive in Dunkirk. From 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., NCCF volunteers will be serving up short stacks of pancakes for a tall cause. Tickets are $5 each.

The fundraiser supports Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation's Service Learning Program. This program currently offers mini-grants to teachers in local school districts that encourage teaching and learning strategies that integrate meaningful community service for students.
