The Westfield Women's Organization (W.W.O.) is conducting a membership drive and all women who are residents of Westfield are invited to attend.
The mission of the Westfield Women's Organization shall be to unite the women of Westfield for the purpose of friendship, educational development and service to others within the community.
W.W.O. sponsors the Holly Tour, a display of beautiful homes decorated for Christmas the Sunday before Thanksgiving. The money earned through this event benefits many Westfield organizations. The following is a list of some of them: Food Pantry, Westfield Memorial Hospital, Habig Scholarship, Appleseed preschool, Westfield Community Kitchen, Patterson Library, YWCA preschool, Westfield Recreation summer swim program, STAR reading program at WACS, the after Prom party, and the McClurg Mansion Museum. W.W.O. also donated towards the new wreaths on the light poles this year. Every year, holiday gift baskets are given to several Westfield families at Thanksgiving and Easter. Once a year, these women provide a dinner meal for one of the Senior Citizens' meetings at the YWCA.
Westfield Women’s Organization officers for 2013-14: Sandy Brown, Secretary; Katie Thies, Vice President; Diane Scarpine, President; Heide Fowler, Tr easurer, and Sue Harris, Parliamentarian.
The next business meeting will the membership drive. One person has been a member for 40 years and another for 28. There are many other long-term members. This meeting will be at the McClurg Mansion Museum, where dessert and entertainment will surely be on the agenda.
