Angeline L. Gugino, 100 years old, passed away peacefully Monday (Feb. 24, 2014) at the Chautauqua County Home in Dunkirk.
She was born Dec. 5, 1913 to the late Louis and Anna Gugino. She had been a member of St. Anthony's Church in Fredonia, NY.
During her lifetime, Angeline had worked for the J. L. Britz Company for several years and was an active member of the Zonta Club, BPW and CIAO.
She enjoyed gardening, which was attributed to her many years of helping on the family's grape farm. Traveling with her sister Nina was very special. They traveled to the Far East and later took a memorable trip to their parents' hometown of Valle Doma, Italy.
Angeline was a very active person. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed roller skating and belonged to several bridge clubs. In her later years, she became interested in painting. Some of her pictures are displayed at Fredonia Place, where she resided for a few years.
Several nieces and nephews survive.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph A. and Nicholas P. Gugino of Fredonia, NY and Cosmo "Cash" Gugino of Buffalo, NY; her sister, Nina Lucci of Phoenix, Ariz.; and nephew, Louis J. Gugino of Dunkirk, NY.
There will be a Memorial Mass for Angeline at a future date to be announced by Michael R. Fantauzzi, Director of the Fantauzzi Funeral Home, 82 East Main St., Fredonia, NY.
