Sherman competes at High School Bowl

JAMESTOWN - Cassadaga Valley Central School defeated Frewsburg Central School 67-38 but lost to Sherman Central School 65-56 in recent WJTN High School Bowl matches at Jamestown Community College.

Player of the Match honors went to Emily Marsh of Cassadaga Valley and Nicholas Hlifka of Sherman.

Members of the Cassadaga Valley team also included Hunter Caskey, Alyssa Merrill and Alyssa Caskey. The team is coached by Wendy Dyment.

The Frewsburg team, coached by Shaun Laska, included Derek Smith, Morgan Scarpino, Brandon Zebrowski, Jesse Ernewein, Anthony Mole, Paul Mole, Colin Marchincin, Libby Hartley and David Lobb.

The Sherman team, coached by Karen Beimel, included Ryan Carpenter, Brandon VanCuren, Nicholas Frew, Morgan Motherwell, Gavin Kahle, Dylan Wagner and Jacob Martin.

High School Bowl, now in its fifty-third year, is produced by Media One Group in cooperation with JCC and sponsors including the JCC Alumni Association, Honest John's Pizza and Wings, Jamestown Mattress, Lind Funeral Home, Pepsi, SKF Aeroengine North America, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation and Delta Kappa Gamma, the International Honor Society of Women Educators.

High School Bowl airs on Saturdays at 12:10 p.m. on radio station WJTN and at 8 a.m. on Sundays on radio station WWSE.
