Theta Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority holds meeting

February 20, 2014
Westfield Republican / Mayville Sentinel News

The Theta Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority met recently at the home of Tracie Cederquist in Sherman. The evening's program topic was related to astrology and each member discovered interesting strengths, weaknesses and horoscope predictions for 2014 as they were reintroduced to their own zodiac sign and the Chinese animal symbol that they were born under. The business meeting, led by President Nancy Palmer, included materials for the Beta Sigma Phi Endowment Fund for which a donation will be sent to the International Office for distribution between various deserving entities. Soon we will be celebrating Valentine's Day and a new Valentine Queen will be selected from the members and a fun event is being planned with our significant others. The Agnes Home has been a recent service project for the sorority and we will again be purchasing items to help these families establish a new/safe home. Plans for the spring include visiting Mayville Senior Apartments when the weather breaks and ordering candy for the upcoming Easter Egg Hunt which is sponsored annually by Theta Beta for children in the Sherman area. Creative fundraising ideas where discussed as many monetary disbursements will need to be made before the close of business in June. The next meeting will be held Febr. 6 in Mayville at Mrs. Joyce Anderson's home.
