Sarah Brumagin Dickson

Sarah Brumagin Dickson, age 87 of Seven Lakes passed away on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst with her family by her side.

Sarah was born on Feb. 24, 1926 in Jamestown, NY to the late Myrl Brumagin and Clara Craig Brumagin. She attended college in Ohio where she was a home economics major and received a 4 year degree. She met the love of her life, John M. Dickson, a WWII Veteran, who swept her off of her feet and they married in 1948, beginning a life of love and devotion and a promise to be with each other until the end. She and her husband retired to Seven Lakes in 1986 where they enjoyed the game of golf, dinner social clubs and friends. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed cooking. She loved and cherished her family and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Sarah will be remembered by many who were close to her as "Aunt Sarah". She loved her Seven Lakes home and her view of the lake.

She is survived by two sons: Timothy Dickson and wife Nancy of West End, NC and John "Mack" Dickson, Jr. and wife Annette of Fayette, OH. She is also survived by two grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, John M. Dickson, Sr and two brothers.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service was held on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 at 3 p.m. at Boles Funeral Home in Seven Lakes with Celebrant Jim DeKornfeld officiating. The family received friends following the service at the funeral home.
