Sherman 65, Westfield 53
SHERMAN - The Westfield Wolverines (6-4, 3-2) put together a strong first half in keeping up with the State's No. 1 ranked Class D team in Sherman (10-0, 6-0).
Unfortunately, the Wolverines couldn't keep up in the second half as the Wildcats went on for the 65-53 victory in CCAA West II action.
The two teams combined for 11 treys in the first half as Sherman held a 42-31 halftime lead.
"It was a great, fast-paced game where people were able to knock down shots in the first half," Sherman coach Corey Emery said. "It was one of the best first halves I have seen in awhile. In the second half, the complexion of the game changed. It went into a half-court offensive game and shots were harder to come by."
The key to the game was the Sherman duo of Andrew Graham and Ryan Robson as the two combined for 40 points, led by Graham's 24. Graham also had five assists while Robson added five assists and four steals. Jake Card contributed in the win with 13 points, six rebound and three assists.
Liam Tennies led the Wolverines with 13 points while Tanner Dahl scored 11 in a losing effort.
