The Small Business Development Center is offering two seminars in the coming week on the Affordable Care Act: What you Need to Know. The seminars will cover such questions as: What is the Affordable Care Act? What tax credits are available for businesses? How will businesses be affected? And what resources can help you navigate the ACA?
The SBDC can cover lots of information about the ACA and how it will impact your business. The discussion will include tax credits, employer mandates, the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) Exchange and rate reviews.
The seminar will be held from 2-4 p.m. today in the North County Training Center at JCC, 10785 Bennett Road, Dunkirk.

Chamber can assist with the State Health Insurance Exchange

Doors Open Jamestown is January 18
The very popular Doors Open Jamestown will be back again in 2014. The date has been set for Saturday, Jan. 18. Doors Open is designed to give area residents a look into our local attractions, with free admission for the day to demonstrate the many tremendous tourism opportunities right here in our own backyard.
Sponsored by the Jamestown Community Chamber of Commerce, Doors Open has grown substantially since it first began. Locations participating this year are: Audubon Center and Sanctuary, Busti Historical Society and Grist Mill, Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame, Fenton History Center, Gateway Train Station, Infinity Performing Arts, Jamestown Savings Bank Arena, Lucille Ball Little Theatre, Lucille M. Wright Air Museum, Lucy-Desi Center for Comedy, Prendergast Library, Reg Lenna Center for the Arts, Robert H. Jackson Center and Roger Tory Peterson Institute for Natural History. Many of the participating venues will offer specials in their gift shops or prize drawings, and local businesses and restaurants will offer Doors Open specials, as well. Fredonia Community Chamber Annual Meeting Jan. 30
The Fredonia Community Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual election and award banquet on Thursday, January 30. The event will take place at the White Inn, Fredonia. Cocktails are at 5:30pm with dinner at 6:30.

Experience Chautauqua Networking Event to help Kick-off Winter Festival
The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce will hold its next Experience Chautauqua Networking Event at Webb's Year-Round Resort on Thursday, Feb. 13. This event will help to kick off the annual President's Day Weekend Winter Festival, which is organized by the Mayville-Chautauqua Community Chamber of Commerce.
Providing networking opportunities with other members is a key component of the Chamber's work. Our goal is to give each business ample opportunity to market itself in one-on-one sessions with other like-minded business people. Our focus with these events is also to provide Chamber members with a glimpse of the fascinating business and tourism occurrences right here in Chautauqua County.
