January finds Westfield Memorial Hospital Regional Auxiliary Board members gearing up for the Annual Membership Drive. They would like to encourage everyone in the area to consider joining this important hospital and community organization and make their drive even more successful than last year.
Thanks to its members, the Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is able to continue its efforts to support WMH in so many ways. The Membership Drive is an important fundraiser as are the Celebrate Spring Luncheon at Chautauqua Institution, the pie booth at the Westfield Arts and Crafts Show, the Parklane Jewelry sales, the lottery trees, the Walk for Wellness, Soup Suppers and the sale of porcelain ornaments, magnets and thimbles.
Because of these fundraising efforts, the Auxiliary was able to continue making improvements in the medical surgical rooms, the two sleep lab rooms and the waiting rooms at WMH. The group also provided funding for outdoor plantings, purchased poinsettias and a new Christmas tree for the Holiday Season, sponsored a $500 hole for the Foundation Golf Tournament, purchased equipment for the PT/Cardiac Rehab department and made arrangements for eight chairs to be donated by Fancher Chair for the medical/surgical rooms. In 2014 the group plans to refurbish the Community Room.
Current members will soon be receiving new membership cards in the mail. The Board members encourage current members to join them in their continued efforts by returning the Membership Card. The annual dues remain at $5 and, of course, donations are always welcomed. Those who are not current members, but would like to join in supporting these worthwhile endeavors, please call membership chairperson Judy Fingerhut at 326-6138. She will be delighted to send a membership card and answer any questions about our organization. Mail membership card and money to: Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, 189 E. Main St., Westfield, NY, 14787.
The Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary cannot succeed without the support of the community. Please take a few moments to reflect on the importance of WMH to individuals and to the community. Join in 2014 and help make WMH a vital part of the community.
