Students of the Month

Westfield Republican / Mayville Sentinel News

On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria:

1. Follows Westfield's Rules of Respect for staff and peers

2. Shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects

3. Prepares daily to participate in all classes

4. Serves as a positive role model for peers

5. Demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship

Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of October.

The 6th grade recipient is Dylan Scriven. In school, Dylan enjoys his science class, as they learn through fun. In his spare time he enjoys relaxing by playing video games. In the future Dylan hopes to continue to do well in school. Grace Bodenmiller received this honor for the 7th grade. In school she enjoys her language arts and science classes. As a hobby Grace enjoys playing soccer and playing the saxophone in the school band. In the future Grace hopes to do well in school and go to a good college. At the 8th grade level Madyson Abbey received this honor. In school she enjoys her language arts and physical education classes. Outside of the classroom Madyson enjoys playing soccer both at school and as a part of a travel league. In the future she hopes to go to college and get a good job.

Three students were also selected as a Student of the Month for the month of November.

The 6th grade recipient is Katie Bodenmiller. In school Katie enjoys her math class. In her spare time she enjoys playing soccer on school teams and in other leagues as well. In the future Katie hopes to continue to play soccer and one day play on the U.S. women's team. Olivia Clamp received this honor for the 7th grade. In school she enjoys her language arts class, as she loves reading and writing. As a hobby Olivia enjoys reading, especially mystery books. In the future Olivia hopes to continue to get good grades and become a teacher. At the 8th grade level Madison Schroeder received this honor. In school she enjoys her math and history classes as they are both interesting and fun. Outside of the classroom Madison enjoys playing soccer, basketball and jumping on her trampoline. A future goal she has is to visit every state in the United States.
