Roberta R. “Bobbie” Handy

Roberta R. "Bobbie" Handy, 69, of 538 Rt. 394, Kennedy, NY, formerly of Warren, PA and Tidioute, PA, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2013, at her home in the loving arms of her children.

She was born December 10, 1944 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of Blanche Hayes Hayes and the late Willis A. Hayes, Sr.

Before her retirement she was a nurse's aide at the Rouse Home in Youngsville, PA for 23 years. She will be remembered as very caring aide who loved her job.

She was a member of the Kennedy United Methodist Church and the Sheffield Senior Center, Sheffield, PA. She also was a volunteer at the Better Life Nutrition Center in Falconer, NY. Bobbie loved to spend time playing cards and kismet with her family.

Surviving are her mother Blanche Hayes of Sheffield, PA, two daughters, Stephanie (Ted) Clark of Kennedy, NY, Ginger (Hodges) Colburn of Perrysburg, NY, two sons, Toby Hodges, Frank (Molly) Hodges both of Chandlers Valley, PA, four step-daughters, Audene Barrett, Jolleen Handy both of Warren, PA, Colleen Johnson of Tidioute, PA, Dorothy Botko of Youngsville, PA, 21 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, two sisters, Lucy (Jim) Rudolph of Sheffield, PA, Tammy (Richard) Colburn of Warren, PA, and three brothers, Willis (Darla) Hayes, Jr. of Jamestown, NY, William McKendree of Warren, PA, Joseph Hayes of Lady of the Lakes, FL and many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her father and her husband John Walter Handy who died November 20, 2006.

The funeral was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013, in the Kennedy United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jennifer Delahoy, pastor officiated.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2013, in the Lind Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Chautauqua County, 20 West Fairmount Ave. Lakewood, NY 14750.
