All Women's Winter Solstice Celebration

Join an All Women's Winter Solstice Celebration; focus on Santa Lucia, based on the Old Style (Julian) calendar. Located at 40 Spring St. Springwood Apts., Westfield, NY. Dec.13 from 7-9:30 p.m.

A dish to pass and the following helpers are needed: two people to come a half hour early and set up, two others to stay after and clean up, a hot beverage server, a cold beverage server, a microwaver, one for grace, one to read poem.

Colors are: red and white/silver; holiday costumes optional. Please observe these building rules: no pets, smoking, drugs or alcohol. No personal fragrances are considerate. RSVP: Limit 12 women, over age 12. Optional donation welcomed for United Way.

Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church hosts annual Cookie Walk

Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church is hosting its annual Cookie Walk, Saturday, Dec. 14 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. (unless sold out before noon). Walk around our huge table laden with homemade cookies and purchase your favorites at $4.25/dozen or 6 dozen for $24. Free coffee and hot cider will be served. The church is located at Route 430 and Meadows Road in Dewittville. Proceeds support the church's commitment to a missionary currently serving in Uganda.

Grinch Fest

From 1-4 pm children of all ages are invited to visit Patterson Library to share in a "Grinch Fest." Enjoy movies, crafts and snacks. Take time to get "Grinchy" and visit with famous Grinch himself. There is no cost to attend this event. If you have questions, please contact 326-2154.

Great Lakes Seaway Trail

Spend Saturdays-only, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. now through Dec. 21, at Cross Roads Farm and Craft Market in rural Chautauqua County between Sherman and Westfield. The Market features dozens of vendors known for their crafts, artwork, woodwork, imported gifts, specialty supplies, collectibles, foodstuffs, candy, coffee, handmade clothing, home decor and eclectic gift assortment. The Market is also open Black Friday.

Donuts With Santa

Mayville Fire Department's annual Donuts With Santa will be held Saturday, Dec.14 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Carlson Community Center located at Lakeside Park in Mayville. Come visit with Santa and have your picture taken. Donuts, hot chocolate, candy and more will be available. Also you may enter the raffle for a Lionel Train.

Vietnam Veterans of America #459 to meet

The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chautauqua County Chapter 459, will meet on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. at the John T. Murray Post 1017 on Deer St. in Dunkirk. All Vietnam and Vietnam-era personnel are invited. Call 366-2287 for more information.

Community tennis

Enjoy tennis every Monday night from 6:30 to 8 p.m., weather permitting. Meet at the courts behind Westfield Academy and Central School to play tennis. The plan is to have enough people to organize several double matches.

25th annual Christmas program and concert

Lake Erie Baptist Church would like to invite the public to join with us for our 25th annual Christmas program and concert. We are located at 9500 Lake Avenue, Brocton, N.Y. ( the corner of Route 5 and Lake Avenue). The concert will be held on Dec. 21, at 7 p.m. It will begin with a children's choir and the Foote Family puppet show and short message on the meaning of Christmas. Following that, we will host a variety of fine Christmas music. It's something for everyone. Come celebrate with us as we ponder the birth of the Savior.

Westfield Memorial Hospital's Parkinson's Disease Support Group Meeting is held the first Thursday of every month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Kids' Club 2014

Children in grades K thru 5 are invited to come and meet wise professor Theo and his mischievous friends, Luther and Belfry, who will teach important lessons about the Foundations of Faith. Children will enjoy: Bible stories, crafts, recreation, refreshments, singing, and more!
