Eleven Westfield Academy and Central School students were recently selected for membership in the New York State School Music Association Area All-State Choir, which selects students from high schools in the five westernmost counties of New York. They are juniors Emma Mason, Chris Cockram and Kaitlyn Meegan, seniors Cristopher Kelley, Lucy Knappenberger, Mackenzi Habig, Emma Fermier and Ashley Poletto. Two additional students were selected as alternates for the ensemble and they are sophomore Trevor North and senior Damian Raynor. All of the selected students were chosen based on their individual solo performances for an adjudicator in spring of 2013. In addition, one student, Poletto, based on her exceptional solo score, was selected to perform as part of the New York State All-State Mixed Chorus in Rochester, on Dec. 8. Also, another student, Knappenberger, was selected to perform in the Eastern United States Mixed Choir sponsored by the American Choral Directors Association this coming February in Baltimore, MD. Her selection was based on a recorded solo audition.
