Chautauqua Lake Association receives $10,000 from Lenna Foundation

LAKEWOOD - The Lenna Foundation has issued a grant to the Chautauqua Lake Association for $10,000 to be used toward the CLA's general operations. The gift helped fund the CLA's annual lake maintenance program for 2013.

Many of the Chautauqua Lake Association's seasonal employees have been working for the CLA for several years.

"We are able to provide employment for most of our repeat employees who have been with us since high school," said Doug Conroe, President of the CLA. "Many are in college and they still need a summer job. We are delighted to work with familiar faces and avoid a timely training process on our equipment and procedures."

The CLA is very proud of its employees and the work they perform annually. The lake was in good condition until algae invaded many areas of the lake. This is a natural occurrence and affected most state lakes this year and throughout the northeastern United States.
