Beginner's Quilting Class at the Ripley Free Library

Join our Beginner's Quilting Class at the Ripley Free Library. The class meets every Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. If you've always wanted to learn how to quilt but thought it was too complicated, now is your chance to mark it off your bucket list. For more information call 736-3913."

Mayville Senior Citizens

The Mayville Senior Citizens Club meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the Mayville VFW at noon. All area seniors 55 or older are welcome. Bring a dish to pass and personal table service.

Meet local authors

Emeritus at Lakewood is hosting a "Come Meet Our Local Authors" open house on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 2-4 p.m. No admission.

Come meet the authors, view a display of their work, ask questions, get material autographed or buy some of their works. Paul Leone, Helen Ebersole, Yoli, Sally Teeter, Linda Anderson, Susan Masters and Michael Yahn are a few of the authors that will be there.

Mayville Youth Group's 'A Christmas Carol'

The Mayville United Methodist Church Youth Group invites you to join them as Charles Dickens reads A Christmas Carol. L. Michael Breeze brings this beloved story to live as Charles Dickens would have while touring the United States in 1867. The performance will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., at the church located at 81 South Erie Street in Mayville. "Will Call" tickets are available by calling 753-0725. Pre-sale tickets are $7 adults and $5 students. Tickets at the door will be $8 adults and $6 children. Refreshments will be available at intermission.

Vietnam Veterans of America November Meetings

On Nov. 10 and 24 the Vietnam Veterans of America will be hosting their November meetings at the John T. Murrau VFW Post No. 1017 located at 113 Deer St. Dunkirk. All Vietnam-Era personnel are invited.

28th Westfield Holly Tour

The Westfield Women's Organization welcomes you to the 28th Holly Tour. The tour will visit many historic homes and locationtions throughout Westfield. Tickets are $10 and all attending are invited to the First United Methodist Church after for dessert and coffee. Holiday music can be enjoyed in the church sanctuary throughout the tour.

Community tennis

Enjoy tennis every Monday night from 6:30 to 8 p.m., weather permitting. Meet at the courts behind Westfield Academy and Central School to play tennis. The plan is to have enough people to organize several double matches.

Mayville T.O.P.S. NY 1337 meets every Tuesday at the Mayville United Methodist Church on South Erie St. Weigh in starts at 5 p.m., with program starting at 5:30 p.m. Join in to Take Off Pounds Sensibly with a great support group, fun contests and awards. Any questions, call 753-3419 or 386-6075.

A Christmas Carol

Patterson Library will be hosting a a one-person dramatization of Dicken's "A Christmas Carol." The event will take place on Nov. 30 from 2-4:30 p.m. with a half hour intermission. Anyone with questions should call 326-2154.

Santa's Craft Bonanza

The 31st Annual Gerry Fire Department Auxiliary Santa's Craft Bonanza will be held at the Gerry Rodeo Grounds Dining/Conference Hall in Gerry on Saturday, Nov. This event is free to attend. The craft tables will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The tables are full of hand-crafted items. Santa will make his appearance from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Barber Shoppe Quartet will be singing from 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. You are welcome to participate in the Chinese Auction. Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church hosts annual Cookie Walk

Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church is hosting its annual Cookie Walk, Saturday, Dec. 14 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. (unless sold out before noon). Walk around our huge table laden with homemade cookies and purchase your favorites at $4.25/dozen or 6 dozen for $24. Free coffee and hot cider will be served. The church is located at Route 430 and Meadows Road in Dewittville. Proceeds support the church's commitment to a missionary currently serving in Uganda.
