The North Harmony Senior Citizens will meet on Monday, Nov. 18 for their general meeting and Thanksgiving celebration. A pork roast dinner will be served. The cost will be $6 per person. The hosts for the dinner will be Penny and Ray Rossey, Rhonda Hatfield, Elli and Mac McNeill, Everett Bensink, Bonnie Johnson and Anita and Earl Ferry. Laura Palmer will bake the birthday cake.
Norm and Paula Czubaj, Paul and Juanita Holthouse, and Sally Carlson prepared and served the Swiss steak dinner at the Oct. 21 meeting. Bonnie Johnson baked a beautiful pumpkin shaped Halloween birthday cake.
Birthday joys were presented to Sonny Warner, Everett King, Doug Ireland, Joan Peacock, Myrtle Skiba, and Will and Louise Ortman. Wedding anniversaries were noted for Joanna and Lincoln Fisher and Ray and Penney Rossey.
The evening, minus any scheduled entertainment, gave the 55 members and their guests, who were present, time to talk and share Halloween experiences from days of old.
It was noted that Pat Saulsgiver, the Sunshine Chairperson, was absent due to some recent surgery. The members sent her a signed attendance sheet and card as a get well gesture.
Paul and Juanita Holthouse donated pumpkin table center pieces which were raffled off after the 50/50 raffle.
With Gordon Saulsgiver helping his wife recuperate at home, Reverend Jim Huron and his wife, Darlene, were present. Reverend Huron led the group in prayer at the beginning of the meeting and gave the prayer of Thanksgiving and safe travel to close the meeting.
