Beginner's Quilting Class at the Ripley Free Library

Join our Beginner's Quilting Class at the Ripley Free Library. The class meets every Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. If you've always wanted to learn how to quilt but thought it was too complicated, now is your chance to mark it off your bucket list. For more information call 736-3913."

Community Foundation Week Open House

Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation celebrates Community Foundation Week Nov. 12 - 18. Join NCCF staff, board members, volunteers and community members on Friday, November 15, 2013, for an Open House at the SUNY Fredonia Incubator on Central Avenue, Dunkirk, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. During the event the NCCF Grants Committee will present checks to the fall Community Grant Program grantees. Everyone is welcomed to attend.

Friday, Nov. 15

Book Sale

The Mayville Library will be holding a book sale starting at 10 a.m. and running until 8 p.m. in order to raise money for the library's expansion project. Books will be selling for 50 cents for paperbacks and $1 for hardcovers.

Chicken and Biscuit Dinner

There will be a Chicken and Biscuit dinner from 4:30-7 p.m. at Mayville Methodist Church to raise funds for the Mayville Library's expansion project. The cost will be $8 for adults and $4 for children (under 12). Please call 716-753-7362 with any questions.

Saturday, Nov. 16

Book Sale

Harvest dinner

There will be a Harvest Dinner a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner with all the trimmings served at the Mayville United Methodist Church located at 81 South Erie Street on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost will be by donation. There will also be a mini rummage sale beginning at noon and running through 7 p.m. Proceeds from the dinner and rummage sale will benefit the Workshop of Wonders Vacation Bible School 2014.

Monday, Nov. 18

Community tennis

Enjoy tennis every Monday night from 6:30 to 8 p.m., weather permitting. Meet at the courts behind Westfield Academy and Central School to play tennis. The plan is to have enough people to organize several double matches.

The Mayville Senior Citizens Club meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the Mayville VFW at noon. All area seniors 55 or older are welcome. Bring a dish to pass and personal table service.

Mayville Youth Group's 'A Christmas Carol'

The Mayville United Methodist Church Youth Group invites you to join them as Charles Dickens reads A Christmas Carol. L. Michael Breeze brings this beloved story to live as Charles Dickens would have while touring the United States in 1867. The performance will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., at the church located at 81 South Erie Street in Mayville. "Will Call" tickets are available by calling 753-0725. Pre-sale tickets are $7 adults and $5 students. Tickets at the door will be $8 adults and $6 children. Refreshments will be available at intermission.

Vietnam Veterans of America November Meetings

On Nov. 10 and 24 the Vietnam Veterans of America will be hosting their November meetings at the John T. Murrau VFW Post No. 1017 located at 113 Deer St. Dunkirk. All Vietnam-Era personnel are invited.

28th Westfield Holly Tour

The Westfield Women's Organization welcomes you to the 28th Holly Tour. The tour will visit many historic homes and locationtions throughout Westfield. Tickets are $10 and all attending are invited to the First United Methodist Church after for dessert and coffee. Holiday music can be enjoyed in the church sanctuary throughout the tour.

Westfield Memorial Hospital's Parkinson's Disease Support Group Meeting is held the first Thursday of every month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
