George Seyler

George E. Seyler IV, 55, of Fredonia, NY passed away on Wednesday evening, Oct. 16, 2013.

He was born in Dunkirk, NY on Aug. 14, 1958 to George and the late Marie (Sorce) Seyler III.

He was a graduate of Batavia High School.

On May 19, 1984, George married Karen Ortolano at the Christian United Methodist Church in Fredonia, NY.

He was a self-employed construction worker and was a member of the Local 621 Laborers' Union of Buffalo, NY.

George was an avid outdoorsman and always looked forward to hunting with his dad, son, nephews and his brother-in-law. The most precious time in George's life was spent with his family and friends. He enjoyed hosting corn roasts and family bonfires.

Besides his wife of 29 years, he is survived by his sons, Justin (Kristin) Heisler of Arizona, Christopher (Kaitlyn) Seyler of Fredonia; his beloved daughter, Jennifer Seyler and her friend, Aaron Zurawski; and grandchildren, Blake and Logynn. George is survived by his sisters, Charlotte Herlong and Barbara (Dale) Waterman; his aunt, Mary Sorce; and his father-in-law, Thomas Ortolano. Other survivors include his nieces, Charlotte (Bill) Price, Samantha Ortolano, Nastashia Bilodeau; and nephews, Thomas Ducato, David Herlong, Michael Herlong and Rick Bilodeau.

George was preceded in death by his mother, Marie (Sorce) Seyler.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 328 Washington Ave., Dunkirk, NY with the family's friend, Rev. Dennis Riter, officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass.

A private interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Sheridan, NY.

Donations to the American Cancer Society in George's memory would be appreciated by the family. Donations can be sent to ACS Memorial Processing Center, P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057-0007 or by telephoning (800) 227-2345.
