The last event of the year was held at the Green Meadows course. Six foursomes competed in the scramble event. Each team received a length of string with the length determined by the handicap total of that team's members which could be used in increments to add to the length of a putt that was short of the cup and once used discarded.
Congratulations went to the team of Gene Noble, Les Yokom, Tren Jordan and Dick Furman which produced a round of eleven under par to finish first. In second place were Roger Kolpien, Phil Young, Doug Rothwell and Todd Swanson at nine under. Coming in third scoring eight under was the squad of Gary Farley, Gary Nash, John Barone and Leroy Vahl.
Rounding out the team money winners were Al Muck, Roy McKinnon, Bob Rogers and Jeff Wagner at seven below. Also at seven under but losing on a tie breaker was the crew of Keith Rothwell, Mel Allen, Ray Lewis and Sam Arcadipane to come in fifth. Harry Barton, Bill Ottaway, Jim Quinn and Jim Sudal brought up the rear with a total of five under par.
Other team awards went to Farley's team which was closest to the pin on hole No. 3 and to Noble's group on No. 16. Individual prizes were won by: Vahl being nearest to the 150 yard post on the first hole, Swanson with the straightest drive on hole No. 8, Barone for the longest putt on No. 14 (34 feet, 7 inches).
Jim Quinn was recognized for being the most improved over last year lowering his handicap by two strokes.
