Parkinson's support group at Westfield Memorial Hospital
Westfield Memorial Hospital's Parkinson's Disease Support Group Meeting is held the first Thursday of every month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Mayville Senior Citizens
The Mayville Senior Citizens Club meet on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the Mayville VFW at noon. All area seniors 55 or older are welcome. Bring a dish to pass and personal table service.

Roast Turkey Harvest Dinner
There will be a roast turkey dinner served at the First Presbyterian Church located at 49 South Portage Street in Westfield, NY. The cost is $10 for adults while children 10 and under are $5. All dinners will include beverage and homemade dessert. Sit down, take out and delivery are available. For delivery please call the church office before noon the day of the dinner.
Proceeds from the dinner will benefit building restoration and Mission/Outreach Projects. For more info please call the church office at 326-2643.
Westfield's First Friday featuring kid's costume contest
The last First Friday of the season will be Oct. 4 from 5 - 8 p.m. along Main Street in Westfield. Bring a chair and enjoy some tunes from Skip Roberts in the middle of town. Stroll down Main Street and visit the area stores, booths and restaurants. Surroundings Art Gallery will feature a Westfield original garden photograph contest and orders will be taken for anyone wanting to purchase the calendar the photos will be in.

Fundraiser for Apple Seed Christian Preschool
Apple Seed Christian Preschool will be holding their annual 5K walk/run on Saturday Oct. 5. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the race begins promptly at 9 a.m. The cost is $20 for pre-registration, $25 on the day of the race. Please contact 716-326-3110 for more information.

Damon Janes chicken and biscuit dinner
A chicken and biscuit dinner will be held at the Westfield Moose Lodge on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 1-7 p.m. Tickest are available at the Moose, Inner Lakes Credit Union and Community Bank in Brocton. Price is $7.00 adult and $5.00 child (7 and under). There will also be a 50/50 raffle. Live music and a Chinese Auction. All proceeds will got to the Damon Janes family to help cover medical expenses.

Enjoy tennis every Monday night from 6:30 to 8 p.m., weather permitting. Meet at the courts behind Westfield Academy and Central School to play tennis. The plan is to have enough people to organize several double matches.

"Grant Seeking Basics" Training to be held at Patterson Library
The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, in partnership with the Patterson Library and the Chautauqua Cattaraugus Library System, are offering a free two-part "Grant Seeking Basics" training on Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The training will be held at the Patterson Library, located at 40 South Portage Street in Westfield, New York.
Grant Writing Basics will be held from 9:00-10:30 a.m., and a Foundation Directory Online Data Base training will follow from 10:30 a.m.-12:00 pm. Participants of this training will learn how to search for grant sources via the Foundation Directory Online database and increase their grant writing skills.

The Chautauqua County Office for the Aging is presenting a "Here Comes Open Enrollment Now What?" presentation at Lake Shore Assembly of God, 252 East Main St., Westfield, NY on Thursday, October 10 at 1 p.m. Chautauqua County Medicare Health Insurance Coordinator, Christine Cheronis will provide information on Medicare in 2014, EPIC (NY State Pharmaceutical Program), Medicare Savings Program, Medicare Fraud & the new NY Health Exchange and what it means for Medicare recipients. A "Question and Answer" period will follow the presentation. Everyone is welcome.

Ripley Free Library presents "Happy Deathday To You" at the Noble Winery on Oct. 12. Tickets are on sale at $18.50 per person or $35.00 for two at the Ripley Free Library. Price of the ticket includes a glass of wine, a delicious dinner and a night of entertainment.
