SHERMAN - Wet and muddy conditions at Harry W. Brosius Field put the focus squarely on the running game during Sherman's football game Friday.

That suited the Sherman Wildcats just fine.

Devin Moorhead gained a game-high 139 yards on 23 carries and scored on runs of 4 and 30 yards, Andrew Graham chipped in with 11 rushes for 89 yards with a pair of scores and the Wildcats defense did the rest in a 38-8 win over Cattaraugus-Little Valley .

After taking an early, 8-0 lead in the first quarter - in one of his few opportunities to throw, Graham hit Dylan Scouten for a 15-yard touchdown strike - Graham scored twice in the second quarter from the 5 and then from the 29 to give Sherman a comfortable 22-8 cushion by the break.

Moorhead then pushed the squad to the winning margin when he scored both of his touchdowns in the final period.

The Timberwolves (2-1) were limited to just 67 yards rushing on 29 carries. Their lone score came in the second period when Justin Forster fired a 45-yard touchdown pass to Colt Agnew.

Jon Spacht led the Sherman defense with 12 tackles and Scouten had 11.

CLYMER - An outstanding start by Jake Wiggers was ended by a sprained ankle as Clymer (0-3) dropped a 25-12 decision to Franklinville (1-2) in Friday's football matchup.

Wiggers scored on Clymer's second play from 53 yards in the first period, but in the second quarter he suffered a severe sprained ankle that sidelined him the rest of the way.

Wiggers went out with an even 100 yards on 17 carries in the loss. The Pirates finished with just 112 yards rushing and 67 yards passing (6-of-21).

Franklinville took the lead at 7-6 on Peter Kopp's 21-yard run and extra point, then added three scores in the second half.

Brandon Greiner scored twice on a 58-yard run and a 3-yard run while Kopp went over from the 1 for the Panthers.

Clymer got its final touchdown on a 21-yard pass from Matt DeStevens to Mitch Einink in the final period.

Adam Einink, Garrett McAfoose and Mitch Einink had 10 tackles each with Mitch Einink blocking two punts and recovering a fumble for Clymer.
