Lorinda H. Valone, 71, of 21 Cutting Street, died Saturday September 21, 2013, in WCA Hospital.
A native of Jamestown, she was born November 27, 1941, a daughter of the late Donald and Evelyn Brooks Pierson.
She was a 1951 graduate of Jamestown High School.
Throughout her working career she assisted her husband in his businesses including Valone Scale Service, Jamestown as secretary and The Land Lubber Lodge, Surfside Beach, SC helping in all aspects.
She was a devoted wife mother and homemaker. Her family and friends were very precious to her however; her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She and her husband enjoyed playing Pinochle with other couples. They also hosted 3 foreign exchange students. She always loved her dogs especially "Red."
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Ted Valone, whom she married September 16, 1961; three children Jeffrey (Bridget) Valone and Beth (Robert) Olson both of Jamestown and Christopher (Lisa) Valone of Conway, SC; 8 grandchildren Samuel, Olivia, Jenna and Sophie Valone, Nicholas and Erik Olson, Zachary (Megan) Valone and Cameron Valone and a great granddaughter Grace Valone.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Ann Truitt and twin brother Peter Pierson.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. John L. Kuhlmann will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
